Through The Tulips Words of 'Wiz'dom

Dreamin’

blueskies This morning I woke up to find a blanket of snow on the ground. It started yesterday afternoon not long after we dropped off Danielle and Justin and continued into the evening. At first, it appeared as though it wasn’t going to stick, but by the time Desere came for coffee last night and left several hours later, it was clear that we were once again going to have a blanket of white.

I do love it, especially when the temps aren’t so frigid that I can actually get out and enjoy it. I made snowballs this morning and tossed them for J.J. to find. He loves to play with them, and when he gets tired of one, he’ll eat it, and then beg for another. It’s adorable, even if it does mean he’s less inclined to do his doggie business.

Even with the beauty that winter brings- the recent tulip sightings has me dreaming for slightlly warmer weather, tulips and sunshine.

Surprises!

Last week, I came home from visiting my friend Bobbi and I found a bouquet of roses in the kitchen that my sweetie had bought me while I was away. I had no idea that he’d done it, and he didn’t mention a thing. I found them when I opened the door to the kitchen to start dinner. They’re gorgeous. Now that it’s several days later, they’re in full bloom and even more beautiful.

I don’t know what I did to deserve them, but whatever it was, I’m glad I did.

All You Need is Love
I think this says it all- no words necessary.

Quick Confession and Thanks

I’m so tired and ready to turn off the computer, but I wanted to pat myself on the back and spend a moment being grateful for meeting my deadline today and also to thank my dear mommy for believing in me when I started doubting myself.

You were right mom, I could do it, and I did.  Even though it didn’t go as smoothly as I’d hoped, it did go faster than my biggest fears, and I know that it’s only going to get better.

Love you.

Remember, it’s not about the destination, but the journey.

Watching

Filed under: photography — gardener @ 11:44 am

Did you ever get the feeling that someone was watching your every move? As you can see, I had that feeling and I caught the culprit red-handed!

Pay attention to what you say and what you do- you never know who is watching and whose life you are influencing.

In My Shoes

I was sitting here a little while ago, writing what started off as an answer to a simple question in an email of someone asking my experience about a particular situation, and that response grew into me sharing personal pieces of my life journey that I haven’t really thought about in a while.   It was in that moment, when I realized that in sharing that journey- that I have a story to tell..  one that may impact the life of another person.

Oddly, this came after my mother-in-law said to me, when I was expressing concern and compassion for someone who was struggling with a particular situation-  “Don’t feel compassion and concern for them, they are the way they are based on their choices.”     My response was that it may very well be the case, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve compassion or concern, and that I can’t be that uncaring.    My mother-in-law may very well be correct in that person being how they are by their own choices, but that’s neither here-nor-there.

I believe we should walk a mile in a persons shoes before we stand in front of them passing judgement and making accusations.  We never know what has brought a person to their current situation, and sometimes, a smile and maybe a bit of compassion makes ALL the difference.

Remember that- and I challenge you to BE that difference.  Anyone can be ordinary.  I challenge you to strive to be EXTRAORDINARY!

A Picture’s Worth…

There are times when words cease to be necessary, when a moment, an object, or even a photograph tells the story-

Dare to be different- Dare to stand out in a croud and be yourself, even if standing up for yourself and what you believe it may not be the most popular thing. ANYONE can go along with the crowd and do what everyone else is doing.

Here We Go..

I wrote a while back that Marcel was planning to stop smoking once he was finished with school, and once Samatha’s visit had come and gone.   As you know, both have transpired, and this morning he had an appointment with the doctor about his plans to stop.

The doctor was supportive and enthusiastic, and gave him some medication that hopefully will help him stop once and for all.   I have a feeling that I’m going to need alot of patience during this endevour, because already Marcel is prickly and grumpy and his stop date isn’t for two weeks from now.

I know he can do it, I just hope he’ll believe in himself and make the changes.  I know his body will be grateful, and so will I, even though he doesn’t smoke near me, because I’m allergic.

Say a prayer for me that I can keep my big mouth shut when he gets grumpy, and just accept that it’s all part of the process. Say a prayer for us both, pretty please- I have a feeling we’ll both need it.

Follow the Bugs Example..

Lately I’ve seen a whole lot of hate, and not alot of loving going on in the world, and truth is- it bothers me. I don’t care who you are, we ALL need love in our lives, and without it- things start going amuck.

Ironically, I was sitting outside with Desere earlier this week drinking coffee, and I noticed something move. When I got up and checked, I found these two ‘stuck’ together. I guess love prevails in the bug world.

Now if we can all learn from the bugs and start spreading a little more love, to each other. The world would be a much better place, don’t you think?
