Gratitude List – July 28, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 12:20 pm

The end of the month is drawing near and I’ve been thinking today about some of the things I am grateful for. There are so many things that I’m grateful for in my life- but I decided that it was time to share a few from today.

My Gratitude List for July 28, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Prayers that have been answered in a big way.
  • JJ and Mister M. being extremely good today while I tried to work-  I didn’t hear a peep out of them all day.
  • A delicious cup of coffee with French Vanilla Coffee-Mate.
  • Steel-Cut oats.  My breakfast of choice.
  • Knowing better- and doing better.

Gratitude – July 7, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 1:01 pm

I really have so much to be grateful for. I think I have an amazing family and some of the best friends a girl could ask for. They are all different, and as someone was talking about the other day- each person brings something unique and special to the table of life. It’s a beautiful thing.

My Gratitude List for July 7, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Little notes that let me know people are thinking about me, even when they are busy with other things.
  • Phone calls and laughter amongts my dearest of friends.
  • The little things, such as waking up to kitty cat kisses.
  • Finding a restaurant for my birthday dinner.
  • Fresh ripe strawberries.

Taking Inventory

Filed under: Food for Thought,Gratitude — gardener @ 10:43 am

This morning when I checked my email, I found this in the midst of all the mail. I loved it, and thought that possibly sharing it with others would touch them the way it has me.

Should you find yourself at a loss, wondering what life is all about and what your purpose is, be thankful. There are those who didn’t live long enough to get the opportunity to wonder.” – Unknown

Taking inventory of your gifts and blessings

You’ll probably spend some time this weekend thinking about the good things in your life and your loved ones. Before you do that, take a moment to just consider how lucky you are to be here in the first place. In the 21st century, we can experience more in a month than most people throughout history did in a lifetime. Instead of appreciating that fact, we usually just end up wanting to do and have more. We look at what’s wrong rather than what’s right. This is a perfect time to take a look at your life and priorities again. Can you make some extra time every day to just enjoy the moment and your loved ones? You’ve been given the gift of a lifetime of moments. Accept the gift and prove yourself worthy.

Thanks Spark People!

Gratitude- July 3, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 3:23 am

It has been a little while since I shared a gratitude list, so I thought that maybe it was about time I did so.     In spite of not being consistent with sharing them every day here, I do take some time out of my day, each day and think about the things I’m grateful for.

I was walking with JJ this morning and an elderly neighbor was walking with me for part of the journey and I asked how she was doing.    She said that every day that her legs will take her where she wants to go, are good days.    She’s right-  It’s one of those little things that we take for granted, but that are so important.

My Gratitude List for July 3, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • My feet and legs, which happily take me everywhere I’d like to go.
  • Cooler temperatures and so far no rain.
  • Time spent with great friends.
  • JJ, for sleeping late this morning, which allowed me to sleep late.
  • My fan, which kept me cool all evening while I slept.

Gratitude June 19, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 5:29 am

I’ve found myself thinking of so many things lately.  Some things I’m learning to let go of, while others I am grasping hold of and learning how to make them a priority in my life.   Everything in life is all about balance, and I think that because of many things that have happened this year, that I’ve found myself out of balance and unsure which way was up.

I’m surrounded with great things-  great people-  but yet, there have been a few things that have caught me completely off guard and taken my breath away.   I thought I had it all under control, only to find out nothing was further from the truth.

Today-  I am on the verge of getting there, but I have to learn to completely let go of some things, and grasp on to others.   For those of you who have been a lifeline to me without even knowing it-   I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Gratitude List for June 19, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Moments of silence, which are to be followed with some of my favorite music from days gone by.
  • Creativity, both big and small.
  • Friendships, and those who offer the life line without realizing.
  • Understanding when to let go and when to hold on and finding the balance.
  • Living outside the proverbial box.

Gratitude – June 17, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 1:40 pm

I haven’t made a gratitude list in a while and even though I think about the things I’m grateful for on a daily basis, I do think that it’s better to actually document them so that I can come back and look at them later. With that being said, I’m going to try to start being more consistent with sharing a gratitude list each and every day.

There are many things that I’m blessed with each day, but I’ll continue to share only five. I think it’s important to focus on the positive and I believe this will help me continue to do so.

My Gratitude List for June 17, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • An early morning text from Desere which had me jumping out of bed to scramble and get ready to go to Aloha with her.  It was a beautiful day and spending the time in the sun with some girl talk over good coffee and Coke Zero is just what I needed to recharge the batteries.
  • Having leftovers from last night, which meant that I didn’t have to cook today.
  • Sitting outside with a great cup of coffee and watching the sun go down as I type these words.
  • Having a pink glow from the kiss I received from the sun.
  • People who bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart-   each and every one.

Before I Go- A Little Gratitude

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 4:56 am

Marcel just left to pick up a few things at the grocery store for me, so I thought while he was gone, I’d share a few words of gratitude since I haven’t done so in a while. Even though I’ve been going through a lot lately, I know there are others who are going through even more. When we think we are alone, we never are.

I really do have a lot to be grateful for, and I’ll share a few here today.

My Gratitude List for May 26, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • An evening out with Desere to see Sex in the City -2.
  • Tostadas, which happens to be one of my  favorite meals.
  • Strong coffee.
  • Mister Mistoffelees, who knows I’ve been a little stressed and has slept beside me for the past two nights.
  • Marcel, for going to the store for me.

Gratitude- May 8, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 9:52 am

I haven’t posted a gratitude list in a while, and I figured before I dash out the door to take JJ for a walk, I’d add a few things that I’m grateful for today.

My Gratitude List for May 8, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Starbucks coffee, not once- but twice.
  • A day spent in the company Bobbi and Kimmie, which was a blast.
  • The rain holding off while we were out and about today so we didn’t get drenched.
  • No wind.
  • Not having to cook because I prepared everything yesterday.

Gratitude April 22, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 1:10 pm

Today is one of those days when I can’t seem to focus on any one thought because there are so many different things running through my head about so many different people. It seems that many people are struggling right now, and I hate to see people that I love struggle. I know they will overcome, though as these things are only temporary.

I’m still reading Women, Food and God and I’m really enjoying it. There’s so much I’ve been thinking lately, and so many things I am learning about myself for the first time.

My Gratitude List for April 22, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Desere making it through her surgery ok, and possibly coming home tomorrow.
  • A bowl of French Onion Soup on a cool Spring day.
  • Pecan Pie Larabars
  • Those who get it
  • People who love you for who you are, not for what they think you should be.

Gratitude April 10, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 12:12 pm

I read something today that talked about how we should take more time each day to be grateful for the things in our lives. I am VERY blessed and grateful for everything, but I love taking the time to actually write down the things I’m grateful for and reflect on them as I do.

These little lists are just five random things in my day, but there is so much more.

My Gratitude List for April 10, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Teamwork.
  • Beautiful, sunny, yellow paint, that now adorns the walls of my terrace.
  • Trying new recipes that turn out great.
  • A good cup of coffee in my favorite mug.
  • Sunny days, blue skies and laughter.
