August 3, 2012 – Gratitude

Filed under: Gratitude,Life's Little Hiccups — gardener @ 6:00 am

I’m taking a little hiatus from Facebook (and many other things at the moment) but one thing I didn’t want to do was get away from my daily gratitude.   I’m going through something very personal at the moment, but even in this time of uncertainty- there is still so much to be grateful for.

Today I’m Grateful for:

  1. Being able to spend some quite time alone with my thoughts to think about everything that is happening.
  2. The friendships that I have with those who have recognized that something is amiss and have checked on me and offered an ear if I need one.
  3. A good nights sleep.
  4. Knowing that in everything is a lesson to be learned- even though we don’t always see it at first.
  5. Unconditional love.

Welcome August

It’s hard to believe that we are already three days into the month of August. My birthday month flew by with great speed and even now- looking back, I’m finding it hard to remember where the days and weeks went. It was filled with some wonderful moments and even more wonderful people and I’m grateful.

August has me thinking and reconsidering a lot of things- making a few new goals- and adjusting others. At least the weather is perfect outside- and in spite of the migraine I’m feeling today- I know that good things are happening all around me. I’m grateful for that.

I’m also grateful knowing that in a few short months- we’ll be heading home for the holidays. More great times await.

Planning

In addition to all the other planning and goal setting I’ve been doing- I’ve also been entertaining the idea of making some new investments for our future. I have been looking at various options, including researching the best annuity rates that would give us the most return in the investment time that I’m looking for us to invest in. Marcel isn’t remotely interested in learning about these things- and leaves all the research and decision making up to me. I still discuss it with him- but he trusts my judgement and instinct and knows that I wouldn’t make a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants decision. After all- it’s my future too.
