Gratitude- Monday August 20, 2012

Monday’s bits of gratitude.

Today I’m grateful for:

1. Waking up to another sunny day- only with cooler temps.

2. Coffee with one of my neighbors that I’d only met once before today.

3. Walking a mile further than my original goal.

4. Zucchini and chicken- fresh off the grill.

5. Moments of relaxation after a busy day.

Patience

I was browsing online a few days ago looking for specific things that I needed for my company and at the same time I was emailing with a friend who asked if I needed Gneil federal labor law posters to hang. Since I am a one person company, I guess that doesn’t exactly apply to me- but who knows what the future may bring.

I’m in the process of doing some 2013 goal setting and it could prove to be a great year!! Now to just keep my plans moving forward and have a little patience.

Back in the Saddle

Today I started back really working towards my training for a 5k- and really paying attention to my own health and eating well. Don’t get me wrong, on the whole I DO eat well most of the time but I could see a few bad habits creeping in and I honestly wasn’t feeling good about them, so I knew that ‘thinking’ about it wasn’t going to change it. I knew that the change had to come from me- so I came up with a plan for myself that I’m committed to.

I am not delusioned in thinking that it’s going to be easy, because I know it is going to have its struggles just like everything else worth having, but I’m ready for it.

Smart Idea

Two months ago- I found out that of my neighbors wives passed away suddenly. I don’t know them very well, but I do know that they are elderly and they have no children. It has been a difficult transition for him, knowing that he’s alone- even though he will say that she was much better off passing away because she’s no longer in pain. I heard a few days ago that he’s considering donating property to charity when he passes away and is working on getting the proper paperwork in order. I think that’s a really smart thing to do- instead of allowing it to become property of the State once he passes.
